Isan - Kelantan 2011

An old Malay found by chance on our trip to Taiwan. While going through the stock of Malay sinking woods we asked the grandma what is that bottle on the back shelf. Lo and behold it was an 2011 distillation they did with wild Kelantan oud.

Isan is ode to the wild jungles of Malaysia. The smell of vintage Malay oud oozing big bubbles on coal, deep bitter cherry notes with booziness. Dusty woods and antique lacquer with a touch of wild earth.

Aged tobacco leafs, minty camphor, soft resins on top of aged leather.

This oud oil tells a story: refined yet rugged, like a monk-warrior graceful in movement, but forged by jungle and sun. It's perfect for oud connoisseurs who seek something elegant yet primal, dry yet resinous, and layered with both light and shadow.
