Saqi - Biak, Indonesia

Distilled by my own hand in a copper still at the end of 2025, this 2.5-month old spirit is my interpretation of the cupbearer, Saqi.

This oil has mermerized me with its complexity and shape shifting abilities. The region for me was unknown when i first got the woods, they really smelled milky just as the hunter said. Parts of the batch were soil wood and i believe this has intensified some of the green notes.

The first sip is a walk through a lush landscape green, milky papua and the gentle scent of soil after rain. But the journey doesn't end there. As it breathes, the profile transforms, the earth giving way to the warm embrace of cinnamon. Deep aged resin notes, minerals and some herbal facets. All the while, ghost-like notes of incense and a breath of fresh mint weave through the background, adding layers of mystery to this young but complex creation.
