Hindi Damasque

I like oud in my perfumes, and Hindi Damasque is exactly that — a celebration of Hindi oud in its fullest form, supported and elevated by layers of deep animalics, rose, coffee, and resinous warmth.The perfume actually began as an experiment in building an animalic accord without oud. Skunk tincture, muskrat, Siberian musk tincture, and ambergris were blended together to create something furry, warm, and almost feral. To soften the harsher edges, Turkish rose was introduced, adding a subtle floral glow that gave the composition balance and depth without taming its wild spirit.The result was beautiful, but something still felt incomplete.Around that time I had been working with a batch of Hindi oud for an attar project, and after a few small trials it became obvious what was missing. Eventually, the entire batch of Hindi oud went into the perfume. More Turkish rose followed, and the blend was left to macerate and age for over a year.The moment I first smelled the finished Hindi Damasque, it made me smile.There is something about the way Hindi oud and rose interact — earthy, dark, floral, and almost alive. The animalics underneath do not dominate; instead, they amplify the oud and give the rose an untamed warmth. The opening carries roasted coffee, cocoa, and the green nuance of rose wrapped in a dense animalic haze that allows the Hindi oud to shine with depth and texture.As it develops, subtle forest greens emerge alongside flashes of fresh rose petals resting over soft roasted coffee and lingering musk.Hindi Damasque was made for people who truly love oud. Every ingredient exists to showcase and elevate the character of the Hindi oud at its center.
